The FIFA World Cup™ has a way of bringing people together unlike any other sporting event. As the tournament returned to the United States for the first time in more than 30 years, fans traveled from around the world to be part of the excitement surrounding this year's matches.

Courtesy of Visa, Worldwide Partner of the FIFA World Cup™, 8am welcomed 35 customers to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Match Day Experience in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 5. Before Brazil and Norway took the field, guests gathered with members of the 8am team for a pre-match reception. It was an opportunity for customers to connect with their peers from the legal community while taking in the excitement of the tournament together.

Welcoming customers to an exclusive pre-match experience

Lively conversation and the anticipation surrounding the match gave the reception an upbeat feel from the start.

Music from the DJ booth filled the event space as guests arrived. In a nod to the day's theme, the reception space was thoughtfully redesigned—blending stylish lounge seating, bold floral displays, FIFA-inspired artwork, and numerous other personal touches into a cohesive look. Members of the 8am team welcomed attendees inside, where they found food, entertainment, and refreshments before the match.

Visa brand ambassadors “scarfed” guests with official Visa and FIFA World Cup 2026™ scarves. Customers also received 8am gift boxes featuring premium branded hats, 8am x Visa backpacks, and embossed luggage tags personalized on-site. Colleagues and friends gathered at a photo booth for pictures throughout the event.

Guests also had the opportunity to learn more about the 8am Visa® Business Card and 8am Smart Spend, which together help law firms manage business expenses by connecting purchases to the right matters and simplifying expense tracking. A dedicated station allowed interested attendees to explore the solution and speak with 8am experts about its capabilities.

The reception gave everyone a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet other legal professionals, and enjoy the afternoon before heading to the match.

“The atmosphere was electric, and it was memorable because everything felt so thoughtfully planned,” said Katherine Martell of First Point Law. “The hospitality from the 8am team, Visa, and the event staff made the day feel truly special.”

Building connections beyond the match

One of the biggest advantages of bringing customers together in person is the opportunity to step away from day-to-day work and have conversations that are difficult to replicate over email or video calls. Throughout the reception, attorneys from different practice areas exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and got to know members of the 8am team in a more informal setting.

For many attendees, meeting the people behind the solutions they use every day was a meaningful part of the experience.

Elizabeth Rosario of Elizabeth Rosario Law reflected on the afternoon:

"While it was great connecting with other 8am MyCase users, what stood out most was the opportunity to meet the people behind the platform. As customers, we interact with the technology every day, but we don't often get the chance to meet the team that's building it and continuously improving it. Putting faces to the names made the partnership feel much more personal."

Jeremy Love, managing attorney at Love Immigration Law Firm, agreed:

“It was great spending the day with the 8am team and getting to know everyone on a more personal level. I also enjoyed connecting with other attorneys and hearing about their experiences, which made the event even more enjoyable.”

Match day excitement

After the reception, guests headed to the stadium as the energy around the match continued to build. Supporters filled the stands in team colors, chants carried through the crowd, and the scale of the tournament came into focus as Brazil and Norway prepared to take the field.

Eileen S. King English of King English, LLC, described the moment she entered the stadium:

“The highlight was absolutely the seats in the stadium, the proximity to the field, and the atmosphere watching the match. When we first walked in and saw the Norway fans doing ‘the Row,’ I actually got emotional, and my eyes filled up with tears.”

The match added an unexpected result to an already memorable day, with Norway defeating Brazil 2–1 to advance to the quarterfinals.

The power of partnership

The Match Day Experience was made possible thanks to Visa, whose longstanding support of the tournament provided the opportunity to bring customers together for an experience they might not otherwise have had. For 8am, that opportunity was about spending time with the people who trust our solutions every day and creating space for conversations that continue long after an event ends.

The relationship between 8am and Visa extends beyond occasions like this. The partnership also supports legal professionals through solutions such as 8am Smart Spend and the 8am Visa® Business Card, reflecting a shared commitment to helping law firms manage their business more effectively.

Katherine Martell of First Point Law said the experience reflected the kind of relationship she has come to expect from 8am.

“The experience reinforced my impression of 8am as a strong and thoughtful partner. As a user of 8am MyCase, LawPay, and DocketWise, I already appreciate the role those tools play in helping our firm operate more efficiently. Being invited to an event like this through our 8am customer service representative showed that 8am values its customers, invests in those relationships, and looks for meaningful ways to connect outside of the day-to-day business relationship.”

Continuing the conversation

From the reception to the excitement of the match itself, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Match Day Experience gave Visa and 8am an opportunity to spend time with customers outside the context of everyday work and celebrate the relationships they've built with the legal professionals they serve.
